KLHK Calls 34 Percent Of Jabodetabek Polutan Sources From PLTU, The Government Will Close Its BUMN?
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) revealed that 34 percent of pollutants in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tengerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas came from Steam Power Plants (PLTU).
A total of 161 were identified as source of pollutants. Of these, 11 companies have been prosecuted. This company is engaged in PLTU and Diesel Power Plants.
Then what about the PLTU belonging to the BUMN?
Special Staff (Staffsus) of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga said he would stop the operation of PT PLN (Persero) which uses coal. Instead, it will use a new renewable energy-based power plant (EBT).
He said, based on the roadmap or roadmaps, PLN's PLTU termination will begin to be carried out in 2025-2030.

Arya said SOEs will continue to encourage new and renewable energy in the country. Therefore, said Arya, his party will follow the government's decision if the PLTU PLN must be closed.
"We also have arodmap in the government, we maximize it at the same time," he said.
