35th Safkar Indipura Joint Exercise Closed By Kasad Dudung Abdurachman And Chief Of Army SAF

JAKARTA - In a meaningful ceremony, Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Dr. Dudung Abdurachman and Chief of Army Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Major General David Neo Chin Wee officially ended the 35th Safkar Indapura Joint Exercise (Latma) 2023.

The closing of Latma took place at Murai Urban Training Facilities (MUTF), Singapore, on Monday, August 28. This event was also attended by Army officials from the two participating countries.

11-day activities in Singapore, from August 20 to 30, 2023, involve Yonif 202/TM Brigif-1/PIK Jaya Sakti Kodam Jaya as representatives of Indonesia.

Kasad said that Latma Safkar Indipura was more than just a joint exercise. He is a concrete symbol of the friendship that has existed since 1989 between the two countries and the two Armys.

In his remarks, Kasad Dudung Abdurachman said, "Through this joint exercise, our experiences, knowledge, and fighting techniques share. Our vision is the same, namely bonds of brotherhood and strategic partnerships that play an important role in the Southeast Asia region."

The peak height of this training series is Urban Warfare, which involves several Alutsistas of the Indonesian Army and the Singapore Army. This exercise involves exchange professionals on engineering, tactics, and operating procedures in city battles. This includes the introduction of a digital preparation planning process, brigade and battalion-level Command Post Exercise (CPX) exercises, as well as battalion-level Field Training Exercise (FTX) in urban operations.

In addition to training military capabilities, the purpose of this activity is to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries and military cooperation that has been running for 35 years.

At the end of the event, Kasad General TNI Dr. Dudung Abdurachman invited Major General David Neo Chin Wee and Singapore Army soldiers to take part in the 36th Safkar Indipura Latma in 2024 in Indonesia.
