AC Electric Short Circuit, Batam City DPRD Office Burns

The fire that occurred in the part of the Batam City DPRD Office, Riau Islands Province, on Tuesday morning was successfully extinguished in about two hours. "There are no obstacles in the field, only two hours the fire has been extinguished," said Batam City Fire Department Head Azman, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 15. According to him, eight fire engines were deployed to support efforts to extinguish the fire on the third floor of the Batam City DPRD Office building on Tuesday morning. Azman suggested that the fire at the Batam DPRD Office may have occurred due to a short circuit. "The possibility (of) air conditioning," he said. According to him, the police are still investigating the cause of the fire that occurred at the Batam City DPRD Office.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of the Batam DPRD Aspawi ensured that the fire did not cause damage to important files. "No important files burned, it's an old archive. Only the papers were burned," he said.
