JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that anyone's involvement, including the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in the bribery case of the railway project, would be investigated. Moreover, there are witnesses who said they had entrusted the contractor to the trial some time ago.
The name of the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya was mentioned by the Director of Infrastructure of the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation Harno Trimadi who testified at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Semarang District Court on Thursday, August 3.
"When at the trial, the person concerned conveyed (there was a deposit, ed) of course, we will see what the facts of the trial look like," Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur told reporters, Monday, August 14.
Later, the prosecutor at the trial will make a report. From there, all those suspected of being involved will be investigated according to evidence and information," said Asep.
"If the criminal act is deemed sufficient for a criminal act of corruption, the evidence is at trial, later the prosecutor (public prosecutor) will make a report on the development of prosecution based on the facts at trial," he explained.
Furthermore, Budi also has the opportunity to be summoned to trial if his statements are needed by judges and prosecutors. The public is expected to continue to monitor the trial.
"Later, the person concerned (Budi Karya, ed) may later the panel of judges will present it to find out the real story," he said.
Harno in the trial became a witness for the accused Director of PT Istana Putra Agung, Dion Renato Sugiarto. He revealed that there were a number of contractors entrusted and directions were delivered directly by Budi Karya.

In this case, the Director of PT Istana Putra Agung Dion Renato Sugiarto was charged with giving bribes to officials of the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation with a total of Rp. 27.9 billion. The provision was made in order to obtain construction work and improve railway lines in three provinces.
The railway line projects carried out by construction service companies in the railway sector are located in Central Java, West Java, and South Sulawesi.
