AIPA President Approves 30 Resolutions For Southeast Asia

JAKARTA - Chairman of the House of Representatives and President of the ASEAN Inter Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Puan Maharani has ratified 30 resolutions for Southeast Asia.

"Based on the Order of Business, the Second Plenary Session in the series of the 44th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly General Sessions this time has three main agendas," said Puan when opening the AIPA plenary session in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

The trial scheduled for the ratification of resolutions from commissions in AIPA to be adopted for the benefit of the Southeast Asian region, then the announcement of the date and place of the 45AIPA General Assembly, and the signing of a joint communique.

Puan then invited the chairmen of the AIPA commission meeting to present the results of the meetings during the 44AIPAth General Assembly. The first is a report from the Chairperson of the AIPA Women's Parliament Member Meeting (WAIPA) Irine Yusiana Roba Putri.

In its report, Irine said that WAIPA produced three resolutions at the WAIPA Session this time, one of which was a proposal from Indonesia, namely Enhancing ASEAN Resilience Through Women Leadership and Gender-Responsive Parliaments or increasing ASEAN resilience through women's leadership and gender-responsive parliament.

Chairman of the AIPA Young Parliament Meeting or Young Parliamentarians of AIPA (YPA) Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri produced two resolutions, one of the resolutions from YPA also proposed from Indonesia, namely the question of Advancing Youth Engagement for Inclusive Development, Economic Transformation, and Democratic Particiation or advancing youth involvement for inclusive development, economic transformation, and democratic participation.

The political affairs commission with Chairman Fadli Zon resulted in six resolutions, two of which were Indonesia's proposals, namely resolution to maintain regional peace, security and stability through dialogue and cooperation and resolution of parliamentary cooperation to achieve long-term peace in Myanmar.

In addition, Fadli Zon also stated that the political affairs commission agreed to form an ad hoc committee in an effort to help Myanmar achieve peaceful and sustainable solutions.

The AIPA Economic Commission and Chairman Charles Honoris produced five resolutions. In a report read by Charles, the resulting resolution puts forward a green economy in every agenda of economic cooperation between countries.

The social affairs commission with the Chairman of Sukamta produced three resolutions, two of which were Indonesia's proposals related to the mobilization of parliamentary actions in promoting green jobs (environmentally friendly jobs) and expertise to support the green economy transition.

Another resolution is Malaysia's proposal, which is to overcome the challenges of employment related to unemployment faced by the younger generation and people who have lost their homes.

Furthermore, the organizational affairs commission with the Chairman of Putu Supadma Rudana proposed 11 resolutions, one of which was Indonesia's proposal for AIPA to update the AIPA theme song. That way, young people and all AIPA members can be involved in making the song anhemAIPA. All resolutions from the organizational commission get approval.

After the report regarding the results of the commissions meeting at AIPA, the ASEAN parliamentary forum plenary session was followed by the agenda of signing a communique joint agreement from each representative of the AIPA member countries present.
