North Sumatra Public Prosecutor's Office Put Corruption Convict of IDR 39.5 Billion Bad Credit to Prisons

MEDAN - The High Court of North Sumatra executed Mujianto, a convict in a bad credit corruption case valued at IDR 39.5 billion at a state-owned bank in Medan.

"Initially, the execution process had experienced obstacles because since the Supreme Court decision was issued and the execution process was carried out by the convict absent from the prosecutor's summons. However, in the end through intelligence activities in the Intelligence Division of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, the convict was successfully executed," said the Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasi Penkum) North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Yos A Tarigan in Medan, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 8.

Previously, the Supreme Court had handed down a nine-year sentence on Mujianto. On that basis, the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office is looking for the convict Mujianto.

The execution process had experienced obstacles because since the Supreme Court decision was issued and the execution process was carried out the convict was absent from the prosecutor's summons.

However, said Yos, in the end, through intelligence activities in the Intelligence Division of the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, the convict was executed in Medan.

"The determination of the suspension of detention was read out by the judge in a hearing on alleged corruption in bad loans worth IDR 39.5 billion at one of the state-owned banks in Medan. The judge finally read out an acquittal to Mujianto and the prosecutor immediately filed an appeal," he said.

After carrying out a series of medical examinations, the convicted person was immediately taken by the Medan District Attorney's executor to be executed at the Medan Class 1 Penitentiary.
