Rental Car Embezzlement Specialist In Cilincing Arrested, 5 Times Action With A Profit Of IDR 90 Million

The case of fraud and embezzlement of rental cars was revealed by the Cilincing Police. The perpetrator with the initials SP (47) was arrested with evidence in the form of a black Toyota Cayla car. After being questioned, the SP suspect had done it 5 times.

Cilincing Police Chief, Kompol Haris Akhmat Basuki explained, the incident began when the victim of the perpetrator's arrival at his residence on Jalan Kebantenan, Semper Timur, Cilincing, North Jakarta, Sunday, May 28, at 19.00 WIB.

The perpetrator at that time wanted to rent a car. The victim, who was completely unaware of SR's bad intentions (56), accepted it and gave him a black Toyota Cayla with police number B 2907 UKA.

Haris said the perpetrator rented the car for 1-2 months with a rental fee of Rp. 3.5 million.

'Get the STNK and car keys. Take it off, key the term. Then it won't take long, the following days by the perpetrators are pawned to other people for IDR 12.5 million," he said.

At the predetermined time, the car did not return. The victim became suspicious and reported to the police. The officer who received the report immediately conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the perpetrator.

"We arrested SP for committing fraud and embezzlement of cars. The mode is to rent for a long time, around 1-2 months by paying the value and some money," said Haris in his statement, Wednesday, August 2.

According to SP's confession, he has embezzled rental cars 5 times, 5 units.

"After the examination, the perpetrator admitted that he had pawned 5 cars belonging to other people. The total (profit) was 90 million rupiah," he said.

For his actions, suspect SP was charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code and or Article 372 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 4 years.
