Transfer Pindad To Subang, Jokowi: For Development
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) plans to relocate or transfer PT Pindad (Persero) from Bandung to Subang. The reason is for the development of the company.
Furthermore, Jokowi said the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has a fairly wide area in the Subang Industrial Estate. This land can be used for the development of PT Pindad (Persero).
"We will move Pindad in Bandung which will gradually be moved to the Subang Industrial (area) owned by the Ministry of SOEs. So that it really has a large area for Pindad development because it has good prospects," he said while visiting the Pindad Ammunition Warehouse, Malang, East Java, Monday, July 24.
Jokowi explained that this transfer was also to anticipate if Pindad finally found a partner and planned to expand heavily.
"If indeed his partner asks for a large amount of production, if here (Turen, Malang) there is still land, you can. If not, it could also be built in Subang," he said.

In addition, Jokowi admitted that he would hold a limited rapag to discuss proposals related to the development of Pindad.
"But earlier at the internal meeting I said that it would be better if we partner, it would be better if we looked for a partner so that the development of Pindad would be even faster," he said.
"After this, after getting the inputs, we will flatten it and we will decide where Pindad will be taken," he continued.
