Suzuki Ready To Launch Its First Electric Car EVX In 2024

JAKARTA - Compared to other automotive companies, vehicle manufacturers from Japan are a bit left behind in presenting and developing electric vehicles.

However, it's never too late for Suzuki. Currently, Suzuki is developing his first EV named eVX. News of this electric car got warmer when Suzuki was seen testing an eVX concept car on the highway, even being photographed while charging batteries at the charging station.

Reporting from the Carscoops page, Tuesday, July 18, Suzuki eVX is seen undergoing a trial on the highway with a vehicle body wrapped in a black camouflage sticker. Although manufacturers try to hide most of its body, the overall design of the eVX can still be seen.

This SUV has a distinctive design with a standout spatbor, a sturdy front endper, a bright engine hood, and a wide rear light. The front uses a goal that is familiar with other Suzuki models such as Grand Vitara and XL7. While the side looks sturdy with the addition of a small back wing hanging over the rear glass.

The Suzuki eVX has moderate dimensions, with a length of 4,300 mm, a width of 1,800 mm, and a height of 1,600 mm. It measures similar to the previous Suzuki model, namely SX4 S-Cross.

In fact, the Suzuki eVX has been introduced as a concept at the India Auto Expo 2023. However, at that time Suzuki had no plans to sell it commercially. Thus, this car is still in the concept stage.

Although details of the specifications have not been disclosed, Suzuki claims that the eVX will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of 60 kWh capable of traveling a distance of up to 550 km, an impressive number for electric vehicle sizes.

Despite having impressive battery power and reach, this figure is still a bit out of action when compared to future competitors such as Toyota bZ4x, which has a 71.4 kWh battery capacity. However, Suzuki can still be proud of the nearly 500 km reach of the eVX.

For consumers or fans of the Suzuki car who want to see the appearance of the EVX without camouflage, they have to be patient. Suzuki is expected to launch an EVX production version in 2024.
