Korean Open 2023 Results: Pramudya/Yeremia Advance To Round Of 16, Two Other Men's Doubles Fall
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan managed to qualify for the round of 16 of the Korea Open 2023. Pramudya/Yeremia were the only Indonesian representatives to win in the round of 32.
Appearing at Jinnam Stadium, Tuesday, July 18 afternoon, Pramudya/Yeremia faced Danish representatives, Jeppe Bay/Lasse Molhede. Pramudya/Yeremia won easily since the beginning of the first game.
It only took the two of them 31 minutes to control the match with a straight two-game win 21-18 and 21-16.
Pramudya/Yeremia's victory in the round of 32 over the Danish representative has become a breath of fresh air for Indonesia. Because of the three representatives who performed today, only Pramudya/Yeremia managed to secure a place in the round of 16.
In the last 32, Indonesia only sent three representatives, all of whom were men's doubles badminton players. Apart from Pramudya/Yeremia, there are Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Leo Carnando/Daniel Marthin.
Unfortunately, two other Indonesian men's doubles failed to win further tickets after being defeated by their respective opponents. Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri fell from Korean representatives, Jin Yong/Na Sung Seung with a score of 6-21 and 10-21.
Meanwhile, Leo Carnando / Daniel Marthin also failed to win. They fell after passing the game ruber over Taiwan representatives with a final score of 11-21, 21-16 and 13-21.
In the next round, Pramudya/Yeremia will face the winner between the first seed, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, versus fifth seed, Christian Bernardo/Alvin Morada.
