Experiencing Problems At Doors, Ford Escape Potentially Withdrawn
JAKARTA - A vehicle manufacturer from the United States, Ford, is experiencing problems with one of its SUVs, Escape. This problem is related to the door hook part of the model, which requires further investigation.
Reporting from the Carscoops page, Saturday, July 15, more than 100 consumers reported this door hook problem to the Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regarding the Ford Escape 2020-2021 model.
Office of Protect Investigations (ODI), the examination agency, has opened an "Initial Evaluation" after receiving at least 118 complaints related to the SUV. According to ODI, the problem occurred at the bracket at the front door of the unit, causing the door to be properly unlocked and potentially difficult to open or even open suddenly when the vehicle was traveling.
This potential defect could affect 346,071 units of vehicles as a whole. In this initial evaluation, ODI also received reports of 25 cases of minor injuries and one case of minor component damage from interviews with consumers.
Currently, investigations are ongoing, and there has been no decision on recall. However, this first step is important to assess the risk of harm to consumer safety and whether a recall is needed.
