Cybercriminals have developed a phishing page that imitates the actual web version of Threads that never existed. Users are deceived to enter login credentials, accidentally leaking their personal information to scammers.

This not only raises privacy concerns such as identity theft and doxing, but what's more worrying is that this kind of fraud will pose a financial risk.

In addition, Kaspersky also discovered other scams that also involve fictitious services, such as Threads Coin, which claims to offer upgrading possibilities in bridging the gap between the physical and digital worlds, particularly within the Metaverse.

Users are tempted to buy this coin using Ethereum. However, it is important to note that the only result that users get is financial loss.

Fraud Buy Followers

Another scheme is to give users the opportunity to generate followers for free on the new social network. They can choose 10.000.000, to 50.000 followers.

After the desired option is selected, the user is asked to undergo the human verification process as via SMS. However, to claim the prize, the user is required to make a payment. Unfortunately, the user eventually lost money and never received the promised gift.
