25 Drug Suspects Arrested In 15 Days In The Land Of South Kalimantan Sea Threatened With 5 Years In Prison

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - Tanah Laut Police Resort (Kapolres) arrested 25 suspects in a drug abuse case for 15 days.

Deputy Head of the Tanah Laut Police, Kompol Muhammad Irfan, said that the suspects secured evidence of 28.28 grams of crystal methamphetamine and Rp2.55 million in cash.

"This is from the results of the Intan Antiquities Operation from June 14 to June 28, 2023," he said in Pelaihari, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel), Thursday, July 13, which was confiscated by Antara.

Irfan said of the suspects arrested, two of them were women. "All of these suspects all work as odd workers," he added.

The 25 suspects face a prison sentence of more than five years based on Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics abuse.

In addition, Irfan added that the Tanah Laut Police also held an activity to destroy 165, 8 grams of crystal methamphetamine from eight suspects who were arrested during April-July 2023.

"The destruction of the evidence was captured from April to July 2023," he said.

Of the eight suspects, he continued, seven were male suspects and one was female suspects.

"The eight suspects were also threatened with imprisonment for more than five years," he said.
