Only Passports Were Found, Dozens Of Days Of Mbah Niron Hajj From Probolinggo Disappeared In The Holy Land

The Surabaya Debarkation Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) said a Hajj from Probolinggo Regency, East Java, was reported missing in the Holy Land, Saudi Arabia and has not been found.

Head of PPIH Surabaya Debarkation Husnul Maram announced the identity of the pilgrim named Niron Sunar Suna, 77 years old, who is a member of the 65 flight group (kloter) from West Hamlet RT 06/RW02, Muneg Kidul Village, Sumberasih District, Probolinggo Regency

"He has been reported missing since June 29, 2023 after throwing a banner at Mina," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 11.

Niron was recorded to have left for the Holy Land with his wife through the Surabaya Embarkation on June 16, 2023.

The last time, he said goodbye to his teammates to go throwing hours after the Fajr prayer on June 29, 2023.

"That is beyond the predetermined schedule. Actually, the schedule set by PPIH is on June 29 afternoon at 16.30," he said.

The health team of Hajj officers assessed that Niron's health condition was quite good and was not suffering from dementia or dementia. The day before he was reported missing, he was even seen chatting with his entourage.

So far, he said, the search results have only found clothes and passport identities left around the latrine throwing site on July 5, 2023.

Then on July 8, 2023, officers found Nirom's belongings, which had been confirmed by his wife.

"We have communicated with officers in Saudi Arabia to assist in the search. A search has been carried out around Mina, including in hospitals. But until now it has not been found," he said.

Nirom is not the only Hajj from Indonesia that was reported missing in the Holy Land. There are two other worshipers who were declared missing, namely Idun Rohim from Palembang batch 20 and Suhardi from Kertajati group 10.

He explained that 10 pilgrims from Indonesia who were reported missing while carrying out the pilgrimage in Arafah and Mina were originally 10 people. However, seven people have been found. Only three people are still being searched.

Meanwhile, 530 pilgrims from Indonesia who died in the Holy Land were recorded.

Among them 115 people are from Surabaya Debarkation. Consisting of 111 people from East Java and 3 people from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
