Aceh's Simeulue Prosecutor's Office Investigate Allegations Of Corruption In Media Publication Funds Of IDR 596.5 Million

BANDA ACEH - Simeulue District Attorney (Kejari), Aceh, is investigating a case of alleged corruption in publication funds with a value of IDR 596.5 million for the 2022 fiscal year.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Simeulue Kejari, Suheri Wira Fernanda, said the investigation of the case was still under investigation. The investigative team continues to work to increase the investigation to a further stage.

"The investigative team has questioned 12 people regarding the alleged criminal act of corruption in publication funds placed in the relevant agencies in the Simeulue Regency Government," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 10.

He said the investigation into the alleged corruption case originated from public information. From this information, it is said that the publication budget is a basic fund for members of the Simeulue Regency House of Representatives (DPRK).

The main thought fund for the 2022 fiscal year is placed in the Simeulue Regency Information and Media Communication Office. Then, the funds were carried out to a number of media companies in the Islands district.

According to Suheri, the parties being questioned were from various relevant agencies. This information is the basis for investigators to reveal whether there are allegations of corruption or not.

In addition, investigators also collect data and evidence as well as evidence needed in the case title. The title of the case is to determine whether the case can be increased to the investigation stage or not.

"We ask the people of Simeulue Regency to be patient because investigators are gathering information and data. If later this case meets the elements, then the investigation will be increased to the next stage," said Suheri Wira.
