Not Wanting To Be Gegabah, Prabowo Is Still Negotiating With Cak Imin About The Vice Presidential Candidate
JAKARTA - Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto said that his party is still negotiating with the National Awakening Party (PKB) until now regarding the prospective vice presidential candidate (cawapres) who will accompany him in the 2024 presidential election.
"So this is a big decision for our country and nation. For the vice president, we are still negotiating it carefully. We want to get something really right," Prabowo said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 9.
Prabowo said this after holding a closed meeting with PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar for 3 hours to stay in touch and discuss.
The Minister of Defense (Menhan) assessed that the problems of the Indonesian nation are not a trivial matter, so it is necessary to negotiate carefully to obtain the right decision.
It was also emphasized that decisions related to the vice presidential candidate would not be taken rashly and recklessly, but would be made based on democratic decisions.
"This is a process that must be carried out with democracy, there are political party leaders, they represent large constituents, including I represent large constituents. We must be calm, wise, not reckless, reckless. We carry out well, we discuss and open good relations with anyone," he said.
