Ganjar Willing To Kill Hours For The Work Of Local Artists
YOGYAKARTA - Extraordinary! That sentence was spoken by Ganjar Pranowo after visiting ARTJOG at the Jogja National Museum, Sunday, July 9. Ganjar spent hours enjoying the artwork of Indonesian artists on display.
Although all day of activities in Jogja and having attended a running event, Ganjar's spirit seemed to be filled again. Accompanied by his wife, Siti Atikoh, Ganjar seemed eager to surround all corners of the museum to enjoy hundreds of works of art. Some are in the form of paintings, photos, installation arts, performing arts and others.
His eyes always shine when he enters space after room where works of art are exhibited. Several times, he took out his cell phone to capture various works of art on display. Every now and then, Ganjar asks about the purpose of the artwork in front of him to the committee accompanying him.
"It's amazing. His works are really good," he said when he saw the installation art of I Made Djirna, an artist from Bali who exhibited a collection of art installations from rocks.
Goenawan Mohamad's painting entitled Book Hantu has also succeeded in captivating Ganjar. The painting of various types of ghosts is enough to amaze Siti Atikoh's husband.
There are also works by Melka Jaarsma, Novi Kristinawati, Ugi Untoro, Dicky Takndare, Kustiyah, Fawlerie and dozens of top Indonesian artists. Ganjar enjoyed it one by one, accompanied by the committee explaining the details and meanings of the art displayed.
"I am very happy that the committee was delivered and explained one by one from the corners. The works that were displayed were extraordinary, there were many stories presented," said Ganjar.

From the exhibition, Ganjar said that there were a lot of works of art in Indonesia. If it is accommodated in the museum, of course the museum cannot be sufficient.
"This means that art infrastructure facilities seem to be needed for fellow artists to perform extraordinary works. Like this ARTJOG event," he said.
And it turns out, Ganjar continued, ARTJOG is an event that is always awaited. Both by artists and art lovers, all are looking forward to this extraordinary contemporary art festival.
Evidently, in a day there were about two thousand people present to enjoy the artwork of the 73 artists involved, consisting of 51 adult artists and 22 child artists.
"That's not a small number. It means that maybe they are fans, they are artists, maybe just watching, it turns out that the exhibition at this ARTJOG is sucked in. If there are many places or exhibitions like this, it feels like our artists will perform and they will be able to show their great works," he concluded.
