Honda Continues To Be In Bad Conditions, KTM Testers: They Are Guilty Because Of Their Own Ego

JAKARTA - The situation of the Repsol Honda factory team, which in several recent MotoGP competitions has not been good, has been highlighted by Efren Vazquez. The former MotoGP rider said the downturn of the Japanese team was due to their own sins.

Recently, Repsol Honda has been quite in the spotlight because the performance of their mainstay racer, Marc Marquez, is considered to have lost its mandate. The Baby Alien often suffered injuries which made her absent in recent series

In addition, several riders who had ridden a Honda motorbike were also considered not to show their maximum performance. Due to this situation, Honda is still stuck in 4th place with a collection of 79 points in the middle of this season.

Vazquez, who is now a tester for KTM manufacturers, said what happened at Honda was because of their own actions. The Japanese manufacturer was considered Vazquez too long to be complacent with ego and arrogance.

Vazquez revealed the situation because he reflected on the situation, for example when the team triumphed with Marc Marquez where success was claimed to have occurred because of the quality of their motorbikes. However, when racers like Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, or Pol Espargaro did not meet their expectations, they were called because of the racer factor.

"On Honda they got lost for years. Everyone thought it ( looked bad) was a problem (Dani) Pedrosa at the time, and they questioned it was because of him," Vazquez was quoted as saying by Motosan on Friday, July 7.

"The same thing happened to Jorge Lorenzo, Alex Marquez, Pol Espargaro and now with Joan Mir," Vazquez added.

The important thing Vazquez emphasized about the current Honda situation is that this team has never tried to fix the problems that have occurred in years. In this case, the problem called Vazquez is about the ego of the Japanese manufacturer which is too high.

I think Honda from last year was guilty of ego, when Marc Marquez won they thought 'our motorbike is good and the other riders don't fulfill our motorcycle duty'," he explained.

From 2012 to 2019 Marquez appeared as the rider who controlled MotoGP. During those seven seasons, Honda always felt proud of the motorbikes they made.

However, until 2020 MotoGP Marquez suffered injuries and decreased performance, Honda still insisted on being the best without any in-depth efforts to investigate their motorcycle problems.
