President Jokowi Calls The Potential Of Creative Industries In Papua Very Large

JAYAPURA - President Joko Widodo said the potential of the industry and the creative economy in the Land of Papua is very large, including in terms of materials.

"However, to carry out the "street carnival", it must be planned for several years before, organized and packaged properly so that it produces products like those that were witnessed together", said President Jokowi after opening the Papua Street Carnival in Jayapura, Papua, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 7.

"I think this is the beginning of the emergence of the creative industry in Papua and it is hoped that it will continue which is managed by the region and young people themselves", he said.

"The provincial, city and district governments should be able to quickly take over because the potential is enormous, and maybe one or two groups will be displayed at the Palace", said Jokowi.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, when giving his opening remarks for the Papua Street Carnival, said that the potential of the creative economy in Papua is extraordinary.

The Papua Street Carnival show features more than 116 parades, starting from the Fuu dance parade with a Tifa musical instrument, then the parade of seven traditional regions in Papua begins with a replica of a giant 5-meter-long Tifa with a diameter of 1 meter.

"The seven traditional areas are Mamta/Tambi, Saereri, Doberai, Bomberai, Anim Ha, La pago, and Me-pago, to a fashion parade inspired by flora, fauna, and the rich culture in Papua and ornamental boats, adorning Yos Sudarso Bay", said Sandiaga Uno.
