ANOC World Beach Games 2023 Bali, Menpora: Indonesia Is Always Ready To Host International Events
JAKARTA - ANOC World Beach Games (AWBG) 2023 in Bali, which was supposed to be held on August 5-12, was canceled. The budget from the government that was not released was the cause.
The government through the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo, regrets this cancellation. Even though the ANOC World Beach Games were actually able to increase local economic enthusiasm after the COVID-19 pandemic
Regarding the reason for the cancellation released by ANOC, the LOC resigned because the budget was not released by the government, Dito revealed that the government was always ready to host according to the program launched by President Joko Widodo.
"Indonesia is always ready to host international events, both sports and other events with infrastructure and human resources development launched by President Joko Widodo for almost a decade. However, in its implementation there must be careful planning so that we can host guests well," said Dito Ariotedjo, as quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 5.
Dito also said that the Ministry of Youth and Sports in preparing budget planning, especially the 2023 AWBG, provided assistance with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and the Directorate General of Budget (DJA) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).
"In planning, the Ministry of Youth and Sports provides assistance with the BPKP and DJA of the Ministry of Finance to produce budget plans in accordance with applicable regulations," said the youngest Minister in the Advanced Indonesia cabinet.

Dito dismissed the news that the government did not provide financial guarantees to international events, especially the 2023 AWBG, this was evidenced by the government's attention through the departure of the contingent or the awarding of bonuses for medal-winning athletes.
"In addition to planning, there are indeed several other issues that arise after the cancellation of the FIFA World Cup U-20. But for financial capacity, it can be seen that the government is always ready to dispatch a multi-branch contingent and is also never too late in giving bonuses for medal-winning athletes," said Dito.
The AWBG is planned to be held on August 5-12 in four clusters of locations in Bali, namely Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Kuta, and Canggu.
The 2023 Bali AWBG is planned to be attended by around 1,500 athletes from 130 countries. Apart from AWBG, Bali will also receive 205 delegates from all over the world along with high-ranking world sports organizations, namely the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), to the leaders of international federations who will attend the ANOC General Assembly on August 13-15.
