Jokowi Affirms Economic Cooperation Is The Focus Of A Visit To Australia
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo emphasized that economic cooperation was the focus of his working visit to Australia.
The President conveyed this when he met a number of leading Australian company leaders at the Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, Tuesday, July 4.
"My visit to Australia this time will focus on strengthening economic cooperation, where you will all be an important part of it", Jokowi said as quoted by ANTARA.
The meeting was also bridged by Australian Minister of Industry and Sciences Ed Husic.
Husic emphasized that the Indonesian-Australia economic cooperation could still be improved.
"We can work on more cooperation to increase economic strengthening for the two countries, including improving site-to-people relations", he said.
Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid, who was also present at the meeting, said that there would be a follow-up to the activity, namely the plan for an Australian group of businessmen to visit Indonesia in September.
"This is our opportunity to cooperate and increase Australia's investment in Indonesia", said Arsjad.

Also attending to accompany the President in the event were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, and Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Australia Siswo Pramono.
In addition to meeting Australian company leaders, President Jokowi has a fairly busy activity agenda throughout Tuesday, including visiting the residence of Australian Governor-General Davidurus and attending the 8th Annual Meeting of Indonesian-Australian Leaders with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
