Home Contracts, Airplane Tickets, And Cigarettes Become A Source Of Inflation In June 2023
JAKARTA The Central Statistics Agency stated that monthly general inflation (month to month/mtm) increased to 0.14 percent in June 2023.
Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics, BPS Pudji Ismartini, said that this figure was higher than in May 2023 which was 0.09 percent.
"The dominant commodities contributed to inflation month to month in June 2023, including broiler meat, broiler eggs, garlic, cucumber, filter kretek cigarettes, home contracts, and air transportation rates," he told the media crew, Monday, July 3.
Pudji explained, for core inflation, the core component was recorded at 0.12 percent mtm. Then, for volatile price inflation (volatile) at 0.44 percent mtm.
Meanwhile, components whose prices are regulated by the government (administered price) have deflation to 0.02 percent in line with the increasingly faded impact of last year's fuel increase.

Meanwhile, year-on-year general inflation (yoy) was known at 3.52 percent last month. The score is lower than May 2023 which was 4.00 percent. This achievement further strengthens the government's inflation target of 3 percent plus minus 1 percent.
"The highest inflation occurred in Ambon at 6.10 percent and the lowest in Gunungsitoli at 1.01 percent," he said.
