4 Sharp Armed Robbers In Medan Arrested By Police

The Medan Baru Police Team, Medan, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) arrested four robbers with a machete.

"In this disclosure, four perpetrators were arrested, one of whom is still 17 years old. Meanwhile, the other three perpetrators are teenagers, namely EBB (21), ISN (20) and RS (19)," said Medan Baru Police Chief Kompol Ginanjar Fitriadi, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 26.

Ginanjar said the perpetrators were arrested on the report of Aprilius Ivan Telaumbanua (23), a resident of Jalan Danau Singkarak, Sei Agil Village, West Medan District, Medan City.

The robbery incident occurred, Tuesday (14/3) at around 03.00 WIB, the reporter at that time crossed Jalan Cikdiro Medan, suddenly Aprilius' victim was grabbed by six unknown men riding a motorcycle, while threatening using a sharp weapon of the type of kelewang.

During the burglary, the perpetrators took the cellphone from the victim's motorbike box and one of the perpetrators pointed the victim using a gun-type firearm.

"Seeing the perpetrator's actions, the victim immediately fled to the education office. Meanwhile, the perpetrators immediately fled the motorbike and in the seat there was a bag belonging to the victim containing Rp 600,000 in cash," he said.

The police chief said the officers who received the report immediately carried out an investigation and secured the perpetrators from a boarding house on Jalan Sei Belutu Medan.

During the raid and search, evidence of a machete was found, a pocket knife, a bread cutting knife from inside the boarding house belonging to the female friends of the perpetrators.

"Furthermore, for further investigation, the perpetrators and evidence in the form of three motorbikes and sharp weapons were taken to the Medan Baru Police Office," he said.

The perpetrators admitted that they had carried out burglary in several jurisdictions of the Medan Polrestabes.

This perpetrator has committed five acts of robbery. The perpetrators are suspected of violating Article 365 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 12 years in prison.
