KKB Papua Headquarters Leader Sefnat Marani In Yapen Raided After Raising The Morning Star Flag

PAPUA - A joint team from the Cartenz Peace Task Force raided the headquarters of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Ambaidiru Village, Kosiwo District, Yapen Islands, Papua.

The daily executive, Deputy Head of Damai Cartenz Ops, Kombes Joko Sulistio, said the raids were carried out after the burning of heavy equipment (excavators) and the raising of the Morning Star flag.

"The incident occurred on May 29 in Woda Village, Rainbawi District, Yapen Islands Regency. There were no fatalities in the heavy equipment burning incident in Woda Village, Rainbawi District," Joko said in a statement, Sunday, June 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

He added that during the raid at the KKB headquarters on Friday, June 15, a homemade firearm made of wood resembled a gun, a striped vest, a Morning Star flag measuring 25cm x 15cm and various other pieces of evidence were secured.

The raid at the KKB headquarters located in Ambaidiru Village, Kosiwo District, was found with homemade firearms and dozens of other evidence. All the evidence that was secured has been handed over to the Yapen Islands Police for follow-up," said Joko.

He explained that in the raid, no KKB members were secured and to provide a sense of security, members activated the implementation of patrols.

When asked which group the headquarters belonged to, Kombes Joko added from the report received that the KKB group led by Sefnat Marani.

"To reach the location of the KKB headquarters, it took about two hours of travel, on foot," he said.
