Emperor Of Japan Arrives In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono welcomed the arrival of Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Queen Masako at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Banten.
This arrival is the first visit of Emperor Naruhito to Indonesia since taking the throne on May 1, 2019. The visit was at the invitation of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) during a visit to Tokyo last year.
Emperor Naruhito and Queen Masako are scheduled to be in Indonesia on June 17-23, 2023. Emperor Naruhito will visit several locations, such as Jakarta, Bekasi, Bogor, and Yogyakarta.
The first visit on June 18 will be carried out at the Integrated Moda Raya Train Depot (MRT) and Pluit Reservoir Pump Station, Jakarta. On the following day, Emperor Naruhito will attend the welcoming ceremony at the Bogor Palace and hold an audience with President Jokowi.
On June 20, Emperor Naruhito will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, followed by a visit to the National Museum, Darma Persada University and SMK Industrial Partner MM2100.

Meanwhile, on June 21, the two of them will visit Yogyakarta by visiting the Sabo Technical Center. The Sabo Engineering Center is a center under the Directorate General of Water Resources of the Ministry of PUPR which has the task of carrying out development, engineering, and implementation of technical testing, assessment, inspection and certification services in the field of Sabo.
After that, Emperor Naruhito will visit the Palace of the Palace, followed by a banquet with Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at the Palace Palace of Yogyakarta.
Then, Emperor Naruhito will visit Borobudur Temple and leave for Jakarta in the afternoon. Emperor Naruhito will return to Japan on June 23, 2023.
