Michael Jordan's Shoes Sold For IDR 20 Billion, This Is His History

JAKARTA - NBA legend Michael Jordan's shoes were sold in the auction process for US$1.38 million or around Rp. 20 billion. These shoes were worn by Jordan in a match dubbed "Flu Game" from the 1997 NBA Final.

The sneakers are part of the history of Jordan and the Bulls who won six NBA titles in the 1990s.

"The final selling price of Michael Jordan's 'Flu Game' sneakers is 1997: 1.38 million," the auction company memorabilia Goldin announced via Twitter, Thursday, June 15.

The Bulls and Utah drew in the finals of the NBA best-of-seven in 1997 with two wins ahead of the fifth game, when Jordan felt sick, fever, and dehydration from the virus but kept playing for Chicago.

According to AFP records, quoted via Antara on Friday, in that match Jordan scored 38 points in 44 minutes and made a decisive three-point shot in the final seconds for the 90-88 Bulls win.

It was the only Jazz home defeat in the playoffs and Chicago then won the crown in six games, while Jordan was awarded the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP).

The shoes belonging to the former ballboy Jazz were first sold at auction 10 years ago for nearly US$105,000.
