Investigation Of Allegations Of Corruption In Ministry Of Agriculture Is Considered Political, Firli: KPK Is Not Affected By Any Power
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) emphasized that they were not subject to any power. Investigations into alleged corruption are confirmed according to evidence and carried out professionally.
This was conveyed by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in response to the investigation into alleged corruption at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) full of politicization. He said, there was already a procedural limit that could later be accounted for.
"KPK is a state institution in carrying out its duties not affected by any power," Firli told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 15.
"So what happened at the KPK, it was entirely a legal process. There were no other processes. There was no politics," he continued.
"The public is asked to give the KPK time to work," said Firli. He ensured that any developments would also be informed.
"I think that in the era of information disclosure, we cannot stem the information even though the case is actually still under investigation. So I think we will follow it later when the KPK will convey the results of the investigation," he said.
