SAR Team Finds Body Of Crew From Myanmar Floating In Kuala Lagan
The joint SAR team on the third day of search operation finally managed to find the body of a foreign ship member (ABK) from Myanmar named Tin Koo (23) who was reported to have drowned in the eastern waters of Jambi.
"The body of the victim Tin Koo was found floating dead in the waters of Tanjung Solok, Tanjabtim, precisely in Kuala Lagan waters or 6.50 nautical miles from the location of the incident in Kuala Jambi," said Head of the Jambi Kornelis Basarnas, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 1. He said on May 30 at 10.00 WIB, a foreigner from Myanmar drowned while lowering the doorongkang TB Highline from Malaysia to Jambi in the waters of Tanjung Solok, Kuala Jambi District, Tanjabtim Regency.
After receiving this information, Basarnas Jambi headed to the location to conduct a joint search with other joint teams.
Initially the team conducted a search at 07.00 WIB. The joint SAR team consisted of the Jambi Basarnas, Polairud Polda Jambi, TNI AL, Transportation Service, East Tanjungjabung BPBD (Tanjabung), as well as fishermen and the community are searching for victims of drowning in the waters of Kuala Jambi, Tanjabtim Regency.

During the search, at 08.40 WIBmtim, the joint SAR managed to find the victim floating dead.
"After finding and confirming the characteristics of the foreign crew member, the victim on behalf of Tin Koo was immediately evacuated by the joint SAR to the post and then handed over to the ambulance to be taken to the hospital in preparation to be returned to his family or representatives," said Kornelis.
After the victim was successfully evacuated, the SAR Operation was declared closed and Basarnas thanked all the joint elements and the community who also conducted the search.
