Garuda Aircraft On Manado-Jakarta Route Turns Back, This Is Management's Explanation
JAKARTA - The Garuda Indonesia aircraft numbered GA 607 with the Manado 'Jakarta route reportedly returned to Base (RTB).
This is due to a disturbance in the engine, so it cannot continue the flight to the destination city, namely Jakarta.
Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra explained that the GA607 flight served with a B737-800NG fleet departed on time from Sam Ratulangi airport at 07.50 WITA.
However, said Irfan, after the plane, taking off the Pilot in Chief (PIC) found one of the cockpit indicators that was on, in which this indicated the condition of the aircraft engine which required further checking.
"Due to these conditions and by prioritizing the safety aspect, PIC decided to return to land at Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado to ensure that the aircraft can go through a thorough inspection," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, May 31.
In the RTB procedure, continued Irfan, the GA607 flight landed normally when it returned to landing at Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado and all passengers and crew in good and safe condition.
Irfan also ensured that the affected passengers had received a service recovery in accordance with applicable regulations.
"We convey that the flight has departed again on a replacement plane from Sam Ratulangi Airport, Manado at 14.45 WITA and is planned to arrive at the international badara Soekarno Hatta at 16.55 WIB," he said.

For this incident, Garuda Indonesia apologized for the inconvenience experienced by the passengers on the Manado-Jakarta route.
"Furthermore, we will also conduct further evaluations related to this to ensure that the commitment to improve the quality of safety and flight services to service users is always implemented optimally," he said.
