Most Of Indonesia Is Forecasted To Be Sunny And Cloudy
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas of Indonesia will be cloudy on Saturday, May 20. Quoted from the BMKG website in Jakarta, most of the province cities that are predicted to be cloudy are Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Bengkulu, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Gorontalo, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, Tarakan, Ternate, Mataram, Kupang, Manado, Padang, and Palembang. BMKG reminded the public to be aware of heavy rain and accompanied by lightning in the Bandar Lampung and Medan areas, with 60-95 percent humidity citing from Antara. Some areas are also predicted to experience light rain, namely Banda Aceh, Bengkulu, Jambi, Bandung, Pontianak, Banjarmasin, Palangkaraya, Tanjung Pinang, Jayapura City, Pekanbaru, Manado, and Padang. Rain with moderate intensity with humidity 55-100 is predicted to occur in Palembang. The Ambon area is predicted to be cloudy with a temperature of 23-30 C, as well as Manokwari which is cloudy with a temperature of 24-33 C.
BMKG also appealed to the public to be aware of potential flooding that could occur in several provinces, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Jambi, South Sumatra, West Java, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Maluku, and Papua. BMKG also reported that the highest wind speeds were observed in the southern waters of East Java to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), southern Makassar Strait, northern waters of Papua and the Arafuru Sea. Then, water areas with high waves of 2.50 - 4.50 m were reported to have occurred in the southern waters of Banten to Sumbawa Island, Bali Strait - Lombok - South Coast, South Indian Ocean Banten to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and South Indian Ocean Sumba Island to Sumba Island.
