Police Thwart Truck Action In Mataram Smuggling 5 Stolen Vehicles
MATARAM - Mataram City Police, West Nusa Tenggara, thwarted a transport truck that wanted to smuggle five stolen vehicles into Bima territory.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Mataram Police, Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama, said the action was revealed from the results of tracing public information.
"From this information, we managed to find this transport truck when it stopped at the Mandalika Terminal area," Yogi said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.
In disclosing this case, the Mataram Police coordinated with the East Lombok Police and the Central Lombok Police. The coordination relates to the origin of the secured vehicle.
"So, from the results of checking the identities of the five vehicles that we found in the back of the truck covered with tarpaulins, some of which were in accordance with reports of lost vehicles with the Central Lombok and East Lombok crime scenes," he said.

After confirming the identity of the vehicle, the police arrested four people who were in the transport truck.
"From the results of the examination, it was revealed that two of them were suspected of being the perpetrators of theft and fraud. They were revealed that they wanted to sell this stolen vehicle to the Bima area," he said.
Following up on the disclosure that took place on Thursday (18/5), the Mataram Police have named the alleged perpetrator of the theft with the initials K (21) and the custodian with the initials M (35) as a suspect.
"For drivers and assistants, we are still securing them with the status of witnesses," he said.
Yogi said the investigation of this case would continue to develop to find the role of other actors, including tracing the stolen vehicle trading syndicate.
