JAKARTA - Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly and Chairman of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani are re-registered as candidates for legislative members of the DPR from the PDI-P
"From the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, those from the PDI-P, who were nominated were Mr. Yasonna Laoly," PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto told reporters as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.
Apart from Yasonna, he continued, all ministers in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet from the PDI-P will focus on helping the government of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
Before becoming Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna was a member of the DPR for the 2019-2024 period. However, after being appointed by President Joko Widodo to become a minister, Yasonna resigned from members of the DPR.
Apart from Yasonna Laoly, Puan Maharani, who now serves as Chair of the DPR, has also been re-registered as a candidate from the PDI-P.
Hasto conveyed a number of contributions from the daughter of the PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri while serving as chairman of the DPR, including support for election organizers so that the democratic party runs well and democratically.
Puan's track record, among other things, was the youngest coordinating minister in the field of human development and culture and became chairman of the PDIP DPP for Political Affairs.

The KPU officially received the registration file for the DPR candidate in the 2024 election from the PDI-P.
The registration of candidates for DPR members for all electoral districts (dapil) will be carried out by the central leadership of political parties by visiting the central KPU office in Jakarta.
Then, for the candidates for provincial DPRD members to be registered by provincial-level political party officials to the respective provincial KPUs and prospective candidates for district and city DPRD members, political party administrators will be registered at the district and city levels at the respective district and city KPU offices.
Meanwhile, registration of candidates for DPD members can only be registered by prospective candidates who have met the requirements for support to the provincial KPU. The KPU has determined that 700 candidates for DPD candidates meet the minimum requirements for voter support and distribution to participate in the 2024 election.
The KPU serves the registration of candidates for the 2024 General Election with operating hours at 08.00-16.00 local time for May 1-13, 2023 and 08.00-23.59 on the last day of registration on May 14, 2023.
