PKB Usung Prabowo Subianto Becomes A Presidential Candidate In The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DPP National Awakening Party (PKB) Faisol Riza emphasized that his party carried the General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) for the 2024 election.
"PKB carries Prabowo as a presidential candidate. It must be noted," said Faisol, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 10.
The support, he said, was given after the PKB intensely communicated with the Golkar Party in order to form a Great Coalition. The plan is for this coalition to merge the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR).
Faisol did not deny that Golkar still adhered to the Golkar National Conference's decision to carry General Chair Airlangga Hartarto as a presidential candidate. PKB decided to carry Prabowo with Gerindra.
"PKB and Gerindra decided to carry Prabowo as presidential candidates. This is in the process to complete the discussion at the beginning, it is very important and crucial," he asserted.
According to him, the agreement to support Prabowo as a presidential candidate was decided with careful consideration. "We have spoken from the start to Prabowo's heart as a presidential candidate, now it is being discussed, the decision will be made by party officials," he emphasized.
For information, the registration of presidential and vice presidential candidates is scheduled to open from 19 October 2023 to 25 November 2023.
