SOE Minister Sets A Target For Pension Fund Management To Be Used As One Village This Month

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir has set a target for the unification of the management of pension funds (dappen) owned by state-owned companies to be completed by the end of this month.

Furthermore, Erick emphasized that consolidation of all BUMN-owned dapen is carried out to make it more transparent and professional.

"The target, by the end of this month, the management of BUMN dapens will be one," said Erick, in Jakarta, written Wednesday, May 10.

Erick believes that more professional management will close the gap in potential corruption to mismanagement of BUMN. Management unification is also a strong effort in ending the recurrence of corruption cases that often occur in BUMN.

"Dapen will be managed by experts by placing investment that can be accounted for and transparent. So, there will be no more stories that will be corrupted, from the start I said, I will brush when it is corruption," said Erick.

Previously, it was reported that the Attorney General's Office (AGO) named 6 suspects in the alleged corruption case of the Port and Dredging Company Pension Fund (DP4) at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo in 2013-2019.

According to Erick, it took him three years to open this case. Erick said that efforts to clean up the body of the pension fund were a concrete form in protecting workers in BUMN.

"This proves that this is not an easy thing, but we are slowly still doing it. Please pray for us in our efforts to clean up SOEs. So that there is no more sense of justice polluted by dirty hands," said Erick.

Furthermore, Erick said the disclosure of the Pelindo pension fund case was an entry point for the Ministry of SOEs to continue to improve the pension fund management system in BUMN.

Erick said that there are rights for BUMN employees, family rights, and the right to a prosperous life in old age that must be maintained.

"This is unfair. I will try to protect them with all my might," said Erick.
