Ruangguru Acquires Mclass, Online Learning Platform With Live Teaching Solutions

JAKARTA - Ruangguru, Southeast Asia's largest educational technology company, has completed its acquisition of Mclass, Vietnam's leading online learning platform offering students live coaching solutions.

With this acquisition, Ruangguru will expand its reach and increase its capabilities in the region, following its success in entering the Vietnamese market in 2019 through its subsidiary, Kien Guru.

Founded by Nguyen Van Khai and Nguyen Minh Thang in 2019, Mclass quickly became one of Vietnam's most popular and trusted online learning platforms.

The platform is working with the best teachers in the country to offer live coaching sessions for mathematics, science, literature, and college preparations such as IELTS.

Mclass' innovative approach has received a positive response and is a great attraction for students and parents. This can be seen from the presence of more than 10 million followers on the social media of the teachers and the live teaching session of the teachers who won 85,000 thousand student participants simultaneously and 1 million total video reviews for one learning session in 2022.

With this acquisition, Ruangguru strengthened his position as one of the market leaders in the e-tech sector that developed in Vietnam, especially in the high school segment. In that sector Mclass became the largest live coaching platform.
