PLN Ensures That The Primary Energy Supply During The 42nd ASEAN Summit Is Sufficient
PT PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI) guarantees the availability of all primary energy supplies for nine power plants that are the backbone of Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara which will host the 42nd Asean Summit (KTT) this year.
President Director of PLN EPI Iwan Agung Firstantara explained, PLN EPI has confirmed that since long ago the need for primary energy such as coal, fuel and gas as well as biomass for these nine plants is in a safe condition.
"We ensure that the primary energy supply for power plants in Labuan Bajo is safe. Moreover, Labuan Bajo is the host at the 42nd ASEAN Summit, where reliable electricity supply is needed," Iwan told the media quoted Monday, May 8.
Iwan detailed, currently the average primary energy HOP above the average is safe. One of them, PLTU Ropa with a capacity of 2x7 MW.
This PLTU requires 370 metric tons of coal per day. Currently, the condition of coal stock at the Ropa PLTU is in a safe condition with a 39-day Power Plant Operational Day (HOP).
PLTU Ropa has also implemented co-firing technology. This is PLN Group's commitment to gradually suppress dependence on fossil energy and as a form of commitment to achieving the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target.
PLTU Ropa implements 5 percent co-firing with a biomass requirement of 282 tons/month
"We have also ensured that the supply of biomass is sufficient from the kemiri shell waste which is abundant on the mainland of Flores. So it is certain that this PLTU will operate optimally," said Iwan.
In addition to the Ropa PLTU, PLN also operates the Golobilas Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) with a capacity of 1.62 MW. The fuel needs of this plant are 5 kiloliters.
