BMKG Urges To Beware Of Potential Floods Due To Heavy Rain In The Mountains Of North Sumatra
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said there was a potential for heavy rain in the mountainous area of North Sumatra which could cause flooding. For this, the BMKG appealed to the public to remain vigilant.
"People in the North Sumatra region are advised to remain alert to the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning in mountainous areas and slopes east of North Sumatra," said BBMKG forecaster Region I Medan Christin A. Matondang, Saturday.
In general, the weather in North Sumatra in the next two days in the afternoon and evening is cloudy and has the opportunity for light to moderate rain in the North Sumatra region.
The potential for rain is occurring in Nias, Langkat, Deli Serdang, Medan, Dairi, West Pakpak, Binjai and surrounding areas, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 6.
At night there are opportunities for light to heavy rain in the areas of Nias, Langkat, Deli Serdang, Medan, Dairi, West Pakpak, Binjai, Serdang Bedagai, Toba, Mandailing Natal,, Tapanuli Tengah, Sibolga, Mandailing Natal, South Tapanuli and surrounding areas.
Temperatures averaged 17.0 32.0 Derajat Celsius, humidity: 60 95 percent and winds blowing from the Northwest northeast at a speed of 10 30 km/hour.
