Measurable Fish Fishing Is Officially Enacted, KKP Prepares This Step
JAKARTA - The measurable fishing policy (PIT) was officially promulgated through Government Regulation (PP) Number 11 of 2023 which was published on March 6, 2023. This regulation consists of nine chapters and 28 articles that include general provisions, zones, base ports, administrative sanctions, and closing provisions.
However, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is still preparing derivative regulations after the issuance of Government Regulation Number 11 of 2023 concerning PIT Policy. This derivative rule includes ministerial regulations and ministerial decisions as technical guidelines for implementing PIT, such as the mechanism for determining quotas.
Responding to this, KKP Fisheries Port Director Tri Aris Wibowo said that his party would determine a number of ports in Indonesia to become ports, so that in the future there will be economic value from the port that can be achieved.
"This means that there will indeed be investments, so, for example, on land, a sufficient supply of fish is needed, so we are regulating how the criteria for the port will be," he said when met by reporters at the KKP building, on Thursday, May 4.
With the efforts being made, Tri Haris hopes that the ports will be able to cover the potential for fish resources in the zone so that it can be absorbed optimally in the future.

Furthermore, said Tri Haris, his party will cooperate with business entities to create ports in Indonesia to become ports.
"Regarding this PIT, there is a possibility that we will cooperate with business entities, we are trying to see how to get around the government's budget that is lacking, but we want to increase the capacity and capabilities of these ports so that they can be more optimal," he said.
"But once again that we are still trying to detail this, later we will apply it, we will decide through the derivative regulation of PP 11," concluded Tri Haris.
