Passengers Crossing From Sumatra To Java Up 10 Percent, 676,129 People For A Week
MERAK - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) said passengers who want to cross from the island of Sumatra to Java use an increase of 10 percent to 676,129 people from H-10 to D+2 Lebaran 2023 compared to the same period Lebaran 2022. "Starting from H-10 to H+2 there were 676,129 people or an increase of 10 percent compared to the same period last year as 615,717 people," said Corporate Secretary of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Shelvy Arifin quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 26. Helvy said that some passengers crossed using two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, as well as some other logistics vehicles. It was recorded that 11,688 motorcycles crossed from Sumatra to Java. This figure rose 44 percent compared to last year's achievement of 8,136 units. "The fourth body reached 15,202 units or decreased by one percent compared to the same period last year of 15,411 units," he said. As for logistics vehicles themselves there were 890 units crossing from Sumatra to Java. The figure also rises when compared to the same period last year, namely 804 units. "The total number of vehicles recorded 8,841 units that had crossed from Java to Sumatra to D+2 Lebaran 2023 or rose 9 percent compared to the same period of Eid 2022 as many as 8,124 units," he said.
