Megawati's Brief Directions To Ganjar Before The Announcement Of The Presidential Candidate: You Will Get Assignment
Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo revealed that PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri had never discussed the issue of her candidacy. Ganjar said Megawati had spoken about her being assigned a new assignment without explaining clearly what he meant.
This was conveyed by Ganjar in an interview with Najwa Shihab which was broadcast on Mata Najwa's YouTube today, Sunday, April 23.
"Mrs. Mega did not specifically convey to me (about the presidential election, ed)," said Ganjar.
"After the Secretary General (PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto) called me, yes, the mother immediately called and then discussed it,'tomorrow you will get an assignment'. That's as simple as that," he continued.
Ganjar said no one knew that he would be announced as a presidential candidate from PDIP on Friday, April 21. In fact, when he was asked to attend Jakarta by Hasto, he did not tell his wife and children.
He didn't even know if it would be announced as a presidential candidate by the general chairman. "Then I had to be called to Jakarta and I didn't tell anyone, including my wife's children," he said.
As previously reported, PDIP has finally officially announced Ganjar Pranowo, who has been touted as the White Rambut as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Megawati Soekarnoputri's official announcement as the General Chair of the PDIP.
"At 13.45 WIB, he appointed Ganjar Pranowo as a cadre and party officer to be assigned as a presidential candidate from the PDIP," said Megawati at the Batu Tulis Palace, Bogor, West Java, Friday, April 21.
Megawati was also accompanied by President Joko Widodo and Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani. Also present were PDIP DPP chairman Prananda Prabowo and PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.
