Eid Day, Crossing Activities In Ternate-Tidore Maluku Have Not Increased

"In addition, at the ASDP Port, the Bastiong Feri was only seen by passengers and vehicles using the ship's services crossing to the Tidore Islands Rum Port and these passengers to stay in touch during Eid al-Fitr and on average using two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles after gathering they returned to Ternate using a Feri ship," said Justan Gaffaru.

He admitted that passengers were dominated by the Ternate-Rum Tidore Islands route from morning to noon, reaching more than 900 people who wanted to cross to meet their families and relatives in the momentum of Eid using the crossing route.

In fact, passengers on this year's Eid al-Fitr D day increased by about 10 percent, if in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic which was below 760 people, especially using the Bastiong Ternate-Rum Tidore route, PP Islands.

Therefore, ASDP officers continue to anticipate a surge in port area passengers because it is possible that there will be an increase, especially vehicles on D+1 for the Ternate-Rum Tidore route, Kepulauan PP.

He said, on the D-1 Lebaran Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah, passengers will go home to their hometowns using Ferry's services, an increase of 8 percent or around 1900 more travelers if compared to the previous year, only 1300 more.

He stated that the occurrence of density and queues of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles, of course, the fleet's operating schedule will also be adjusted to conditions, as expected and up to D-1 for Eid al-Fitr and even if the density and surge of passengers increase, then there will be additional ship trips, especially for the Ternate-Sidangoli, Ternate-Sofifi and Ternate-Tidore Islands routes.

In addition, previously, as many as 18 ships had been prepared to transport Eid travelers in ten regencies/cities in North Maluku, not including 13 ferries belonging to Perum ASDP Ternate and hundreds of fleets of ants in the form of speedboats and motorboats for short-distance transportation and seven pellni ships, two of which were pioneer ships for transportation outside North Maluku.
