Hybrid Sun Eclipse, Bengkulu Residents Hold Congregational Prayers At Baitulizzah Grand Mosque
BENGKULU - People in Bengkulu Province carry out sunnah khususuf prayers or sunnah prayers for solar eclipses in a number of mosques, one of which is at the Baitulizzah Grand Mosque, Bengkulu City.
The implementation of the solar eclipse prayer began at 09.42 WIB and ended at around 10.15 WIB. "All regencies and cities in Bengkulu Province carry out solar eclipse prayers which are a natural phenomenon to prove that we must comply with the power of Allah SWT beyond reason and thought," said Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion of Bengkulu Province Muhammad Abdu, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 20. He mentioned that with the phenomenon and implementation of the solar eclipse prayer, it can increase the faith and piety of the Bengkulu community so that it is closer to Allah. The same thing was conveyed by Assistant I of the Regional Secretariat of Bengkulu Province, Khairil Anwar, that the implementation of the solar eclipse prayer was a sunnah and also to follow up on circulars (SE) from the Ministry of Religion. "We hope that the natural phenomenon of solar eclipses that show the greatness of Allah SWT makes us people always obedient to carrying out our obligations as Muslims," he explained.
Previously, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of the Kepahiang Geophysics Station said that the hybrid sun eclipse was partially visible in Bengkulu.

In Bengkulu, the solar eclipse was partially visible," said BMKG Earthquake Analyst Kepahiang Sabar Ardiansyah when confirmed in Kepahiang Regency, Thursday. He said that the phenomenon of solar eclipses occurs every 8.8 years or from 2000 before the masehi (SM) to 3000 AD about 569 times there was a hybrid solar eclipse.
