Sandiaga Uno Issues Letter Of Appeal To Ensure Readiness Of Tourist Destinations During Eid Holidays

JAKARTA - The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated that his party had issued a letter of appeal for monitoring the 2023 Eid Al-Fitr to all Provincial Tourism Offices in Indonesia.

Sandiaga said that the circular containing the appeal was an order to ensure the readiness of tourist destinations for the 2023 Eid holiday. Because, according to him, people are not just going home, but at the same time traveling to fill the Eid holiday moments.

"During this Eid holiday, we have issued circulars to all Tourism Offices in Indonesia," he said in The Weekly Brief with Sandiaga Uno in Jakarta, Monday, April 17.

He hopes that the steps taken by his party can later encourage tourism operators to improve safety protocols, so as to avoid the accumulation of accidents occurring during the 2023 Eid holiday.

"To anticipate this, we have coordinated with the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the safety of tourists' travel during their homecoming and Eid holidays," said Sandiaga.

Menparekraf Sandiaga even gave an example, for example, a tourism bus that will be used as Lebaran homecoming transportation has already taken a ramp check, and the driver who will be carrying the fleet has attended training on travel arrangements.

"We checked whether the driver had ever passed that road, so that later it would remain safe," he said.

With a number of steps that have been taken, Sandiaga hopes that tourism operators will be able to further improve safety protocols for the community.

"We also have to anticipate (there are) bad possibilities by implementing all security, safety, and health protocols, as well as environmental sustainability," he said.
