Liverpool Finally Featured Their Best Game, Said Jurgen Klopp

JAKARTA - Liverpool went berserk at Leeds United headquarters. Merseyside's troops crushed the hosts with a score of 6-1 at Elland Road in the Premier League of England on Tuesday, April 18 in the morning WIB.

Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah scored two goals each in this match. While the other two goals were presented by Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not happy. Even for him, this is the best game for his team throughout the 2022/2023 season.

"I think it's the best game we've played this season from all aspects of a different game," Klopp said after the game, reported by BBC Sport.

The German admitted that he really liked the game his squad displayed. Because Virgil van Dijk and his friends were able to dominate the game.

In that match, the Reds did excel everything from the home team by having 73 percent possession and releasing seven on target, six of which resulted in goals.

"We really controlled the game. We played brilliantly, calmly. We played a good game and scored an incredible goal," Klopp said, as quoted by Antara.

In his press conference after the match, Klopp also issued a statement regarding his team's chances of breaking into the top four. The former Borussia Dortmund coach didn't think much of it.

According to him, the more important thing than that is how to build his team to prepare for next season, starting from playing well for the rest of the season.

"I don't know if we can get close, but I don't think it's not very important," Klopp said.

"If we can't get anything this season, then we have to build on a good performance from the last part of the season," added the German manager.

This landslide victory brought Liverpool to cut the gap from the last occupants in the top four of the standings, namely Newcastle United from 12 points to nine points. The Reds are still in 8th place in the standings with 47 points from 30 matches.
