Undergoing Training Camp, The Indonesian Esports Valorant National Team Departs For South Korea
JAKARTA - The Indonesian esports national team for the match number Valorant has been dispatched to Seoul, South Korea to undergo a training camp, in preparation for the 2023 SEA Games which will take place in Cambodia.
In an official statement, Secretary General of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI) Frengky Ong said that PBESI is very committed to its vision and mission to develop esports as an outstanding sport in the eyes of the world.
"We set a fairly high target for the Cambodian SEA Games, and we are also trying our best to achieve this target, one of which is through cooperation with esports organizations that have been recognized internationally in holding training camp for the Valorant national team," he said, quoted Monday, April 17.
The Indonesian Valorant national team will undergo a series of training programs in Seoul for 15 days. Not only that, the secretary general of PBESI also said that athletes were given the opportunity to do training in matches with four teams from South Korea.
Later, the results of a thorough evaluation of the strategy and performance of Indonesian national team athletes during the training will make provision and material for them to go to the biggest sporting event in Southeast Asia.
This training camp is also expected to further strengthen our preparations in achieving the best achievements at the 2023 Cambodian SEA Games.
Indonesia will field 40 professional athletes with six esports branch numbers at the SEA Games this time. It should be noted that esports matches at the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia will take place on 8 - 15 May 2023. The complete schedule will soon follow.
As one of the outstanding sports that will compete in this year's Cambodian SEA Games, PBESI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) are targeting the esports national team to become the overall champion at this prestigious event.
