Proven To Avoid The Military, Ravi Out Of VIXX And Demanded 2 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - Ravi left the K-pop group that made his name, VIXX. This announcement was made by Jellyfish Entertainment through an official statement today, Tuesday, April 11.
"We thank the fans who support VIXX and we announced Ravi's exit from VIXX," Jellyfish Entertainment said.
After discussions between Ravi and the agency, it was announced he would leave the team as of today. "We apologize for causing concern to those who support VIXX," he said.
Ravi left Jellyfish in 2019 to set up his own label. Even so, he is still counted as a member of VIXX until he decided to leave today. He also wrote a letter to the public about his social media.
"First, I would like to apologize to all those who feel hurt with me. I postponed my military service for activities but we arrived at the point of not being able to postpone my military service. At that time I was the only profitable artist at the company," Ravi wrote.
"Finally to the teammates who were harmed by my mistakes. I decided to leave the team so that there would be no losses. Thank you for 11 insufficient years and I apologize," he continued.
The announcement was shared in conjunction with the inaugural trial of Ravi's military corruption case.
Earlier this year, it was rumored that a brokerage group was arrested for corruption in avoiding the military by collaborating with a neurologist at a hospital in Seoul. This neurologist can fake the results of a medical test to help reduce his military service.
When arrested, this brokerage group said their services had been used by various clients including famous idol rappers. Ravi's name was revealed as an idol rapper.
Ravi and his labeling colleagues, Nafla and co-CEO GROOVL1N were found guilty of violating the Military Mandatory Law. The prosecutor then demanded two years in prison for Ravi and his co-CEO while two years and six months for Nafla.
Currently, the trial for reading the demands is ongoing and the date of the next trial has not been announced.
