Share Factory With BMW, Early 2024 Target Selling Mini Countryman EV
JAKARTA - One of the car manufacturers from England, Mini is preparing for the latest generation of the Countryman model which is expected to start production this year.
Entering the third generation, Mini Countryman is the largest-dimensional Mini car with a length of 4,429 mm, a height of 1,613 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. With this size, making the latest generation Countryman will have a relieved space.
In addition to dimensions, there are other changes to the latest Mini Countryman, namely sharing the platform with BMW X1. What's more, the latest Countryman will carry electricity as reported by ArenaEV, Wednesday, April 5.
The electric mini Countryman is expected to come by offering two powertrains, namely electric motors with two-wheeled driving (2WD) and four-wheeled electric motors (4WD).
Countryman E, which will be embedded with a two-wheeled electric motor, will issue 191 dk of power. Meanwhile, the four-wheel drive variant, Countryman SE will carry the same powertrain as BMW iX1 xDrive30 by wasting 313 dk of power.
In addition to the platform and powertrain, Mini will also share batteries with BMW iX1 with a capacity of 64.7 kWh which can support live charging which has speeds of up to 130 kW and is claimed to provide a distance of up to 450 km in full battery.
In addition to the two variants, Mini is also working on another version of Countryman, namely version S and John Cooper Works which is the most powerful version.
The manufacturer plans to start production in November in Leipzig, Germany, where BMW is also producing the iX1 SUV.
The latest Mini Countryman is targeted to be sold starting February 2024.
