WhatsApp Is Working On A Feature To Lock Certain Chats With Password
JAKARTA - WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature that allows users to lock certain chats using fingerprints or code.
Found by WABetainfo, this feature comes in the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android 2.23.8.2 available on the Google Play Store.
This ability also came after WhatsApp was previously reportedly developing a new capability for users to be able to send one-play audio messages.
Based on the uploaded screen response, WhatsApp is developing a feature that will increase the privacy of this user to lock the most private chat directly in the contact or chat group info.
Once the chat is locked, the chat will only be available and accessible using the user's fingerprint or password, making it almost impossible for other people to open it.
In addition, according to WABetainfo, if someone tries to access your phone and fails to provide the required authentication, they will be asked to delete the chat to open it.
This feature will offer an additional layer of privacy for sensitive chats, as this feature allows users to protect their privacy by preventing others from reading their messages.
The ability to lock chats is a feature that is being developed and will be released on app updates in the future. So, there could be changes related to this feature later, either from the appearance or the way it works.
