Alleged Corruption Of IDR 37 Billion Sports Grant Funds, South Sumatra KONI Claims To Be Cooperative
PALEMBANG - Deputy Chair IV of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) Agung Rahmadi stated that his party is ready to fully support the investigation process of the alleged corruption case of grant funds of Rp37 billion in the 2021 fiscal year.
The process of investigating the case was carried out based on an investigation warrant from the Head of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office Number PRINT-02/L.6/Fd.1/03/2023 dated March 8, 2023.
"We are ready to support, cooperate and nothing is covered up as the attention of the leadership. Hopefully, the prosecutor's investigation process will run smoothly and and will be completed soon," said Agung Rahmadi, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, March 30.
Apart from the investigation process, said Agung, the South Sumatra KONI received a total grant of around Rp37 billion, which was sourced from the APBD for the 2021 fiscal year.
The grant funds were given by the South Sumatra Provincial Government through the Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) to KONI in accordance with applicable regulations.
He said the total grant funds were each intended as a master budget of IDR 12.5 billion and IDR 25 billion, including preparations for the National Sports Week and the South Sumatra Province Sports Week.
"Yes, starting from the process of submitting proposals to disbursement, none of them were missed, all were verified and supervised by Dispora," he said.
He emphasized that all of this was a fact that the process carried out by the South Sumatra KONI was related to grant funds, and the rest outside of it was the consideration of the prosecutor's office on the findings they believed in.
"We respect this ongoing process," he added.
Previously, the Special Criminal Investigators of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office found allegations of corrupt practices in the local KONI environment.
The allegations are in the form of disbursement of deposits and grants from the South Sumatra Provincial Government as well as spending on the procurement of goods sourced from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the 2021 fiscal year.
However, the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office stated that the framework for the case would then be fully explained after investigators completed the case file.
The special criminal investigation team of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has also examined witnesses from the South Sumatra KONI management regarding the alleged corruption case since March 15, 2023.
