Ahead Of The Indonesia Vs Burundi National Team, Elkan Baggot, Who Can't Wait To Learn From Jordi Amat
JAKARTA - Elkan Baggot admitted that he could not wait to appear with Jordi Amat on the back lines of the Indonesian national team. This opportunity is likely to occur when the Garuda Squad plays two FIFA Matchday matches against Burundi, 25 and 28 March.
As is known, Shin Tae-yong has called 28 names of players to undergo the Indonesian national team training camp (TC). Two players of Indonesian descent, namely Jordi Amat and Elkan Baggott, participated.
The call for these two names opens up opportunities for Jordi and Baggot to be able to duet in the defense sector of the Red and White Team. Although there is no guarantee to appear together, Elkan Baggot is very excited to learn from Jordi Amat.
According to him Jordi Amat is his role model in the Indonesian national team. Reflecting on Jordi's flight hours, Elkan believes that he can learn many lessons during a duet together later.
"Yes, I can't wait for that (to appear with Jordi Amat). He is a player with top quality, for me to be able to learn a lot from him," Elkan said after the TC on Thursday, March 23 at JIS, North Jakarta, quoted from Antara.
"I want to learn as much as possible. Playing with him will really help my game," Elkan continued.
Elkan Baggot has again received a call to strengthen the national team after making a slick appearance at his club in England, Cheltenham Town. With this opportunity, Elkan said he was happy because he was again trusted to join the national team.
"It's fun because I've been in England for a long time, and returning to the national team brings in a very good feeling," said the 20-year-old.
Elkan, who has experience playing against African players in England's third and fourth division competitions, believes players from the continent have an advantage in the velocity and power sector.
"In England I have a lot of experience to deal with players from various countries. You know they (African players) are strong, they are fast, and they have a little quality (above us). So we have to be prepared for the challenges that exist," he explained.
